“…in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
--Genesis 12:3b
“For by grace you have been saved through faith,
and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.”
--Ephesians 2:8
Some people ask, “Why me? Why do I have so many problems?” I ask, “Why me? Why do I have so many blessings?” After sixty-plus years of living, I seem to have always had everything going my way. I was born into a loving family, grew up in a small, safe community and had lots of fun as a teenager, got married, had kids, stayed married, am now enjoying years of creativity and continued growth, and just seem “to have it all."
In a world where there is so much pain, suffering, war, homelessness, and hunger, I am blessed by good health, happiness, peace, and not just a shelter, but a warm bed, a hot shower, and many comforts in a home that is a sanctuary from the outside world. I have more good food than I can possibly eat, but even more than that, I have many, many loving relationships, including one with God, giving me food for my soul...

Thoughts to Ponder/Points for Discussion
- How do you feel about your life? Have you had a life full of blessings or has your life been full of pain?
- If you have been blessed, have you passed some of those blessings on? If not, how could you? If you have had a life of pain, are there steps you can take to change that?
